our story

our story began with a simple desire—to bring back the authentic, homemade taste of Andhra pickles and podis that many of us grew up with. A year ago, our founder Lakshmi Prasanna, a devoted mother and homemaker, was on a mission to find pure, hygienic, and flavorful Andhra pickles in Chennai. Disappointed by the lack of options free from chemicals and preservatives, she decided to make them herself, using traditional recipes passed down from her family in Guntur and Vijayawada. What started as a personal journey turned into a passion project, and today Gongura has grown into a trusted brand offering a wide range of delicious Andhra pickles like Avakai (mango), Gongura (sorrel), Allam (ginger), Pandumirapakayi (red chilli), Usirikai (gooseberry), Tomato, and more—along with flavorful podis such as Karuveppaku (curry leaf), Nuvvulu (sesame), Kandipodi (toor dal), Pappula podi (roasted gram), and Idli karam. Every batch is made with care, in small quantities, without any artificial ingredients, and is tested for shelf life to ensure safety and quality.
